
Baseball Falls to Raiders in Makeup Game with Grand Rapids 4-1
The Lakers hosted Grand Rapids for a single make up game from the previously scheduled conference series.
In the fifth game of the series, the Lakers struck first scoring in the bottom of the second inning, getting off to a 1-0 start. Avain Rivera singled to open the inning, and later scored on a fielder's choice.
Rivera went 2-3 in the game with a pair of singles, and was the lone player to score for the Lakers. Andrew Charters mustered up the other hit for the Lakers in the single contest.
Grand Rapids tied the game up when they came back to the plate in the top of the third inning. The pitchers duel continued on into the seventh inning, where the Raiders scored 3 runs in the top half of the inning to take a 4-1 lead.
Brendan Martin threw all 7 innings, allowing 4 hits, 4 runs, and struck out 6 batters. This put the Lakers to 1-4 in the series with the Raiders, dropping their record to 13-9 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
They will return to action in a weekend home series versus Muskegon Community College that begins on Friday 4/14
