
MBB vs. Jackson recap
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Vynce Overshown scored 28 points, with eight made 3-pointers, and the Mid Michigan College men's basketball team earned a 126-83 victory over Jackson College on Wednesday (Dec. 4) night at Morey Courts. The win moves the Lakers to 6-3 overall this season.
In 28 minutes off the bench, Overshown scored 24 of his 28 points from deep. He passed his career high from earlier this year, when he scored 17 points in the Lakers loss at Rock Valley on Nov. 9.
Reigning MCCAA Northern Conference Player of the Week James Wright posted 23 points on 10-of-12 shooting. He also added eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals.
Freshman Jaden Clark recorded 15 points, while sophomore De'Antre Griffin scored 14 points and grabbed four rebounds.
The Lakers passed the 100-point mark for just the second time this season, the other being in a 103-80 win over Oakland Community College on Nov. 21st.
Mid will face a tough test on Friday (Dec. 6) when they hit the road to take on No. 2 Macomb Community College in the teams second meeting of the year. The Monarchs defeated the Lakers 106-98 earlier this season at Morey Courts. Friday's game is scheduled for 3:00 PM, following the women's contest. After the Macomb game, the Lakers will take a week off before heading to St. Clair Community College on Monday (Dec. 16) at 7:00 PM.
