FLINT, Mich. – James Wright scored a career-high 36 points, pulled down 15 rebounds, and led the No. 14 Mid Michigan College men's basketball team to a 92-79 victory over Lansing Thursday morning in the Great Lakes District C Tournament Semifinals.
With the win, Mid (25-5) advances to Saturday's (March 8th) championship game at 11am to face the winner of the Macomb-Lakeland (Ohio) semifinal.
De'Antre Griffin also had a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Amonti Greene recorded 14 points, four assists, and three steals. Joe Iung added 10 points, three assists, and three blocks.
The Lakers led 44-35 at halftime and outscored LCC 48-44 in the second half to hang on for the win.
Zander Woodruff led the Stars (18-13) with 26 points and six rebounds.
Mid will play Saturday for a chance to go to the NJCAA D2 National Tournament in Danville, Illinois March 17th-22nd.
