Lakers Fall in Regular Season Finale

ESCANABA, Mich. – The No. 10 Mid Michigan College men's basketball team closed the regular season on Tuesday night with a 91-78 loss at Bay College. 

Despite the loss Mid already clinched the regular season MCCAA Northern Conference title, and has earned a berth in the Great Lakes District C Tournament as the No. 1 seed. 

James Wright led the Lakers (24-4, 13-1 MCCAA North) with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Amonti Greene added 20 points and three assists, while Joe Iung had 11 points and five rebounds. Mario Johnson matched Wright in rebounding, grabbing 10 of his own. 

The Norse (23-5, 12-2 MCCAA North) were led by Joe Ofori with 16 points. 

As the Northern Conference regular season winner, the Lakers will play in the MCCAA Tournament before the Great Lakes District C Tournament. Mid will take on No. 8 Macomb on Friday (Feb. 28) at 7:00 PM from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. The winner of Friday's game will take on host KVCC at 3:00 PM Saturday (Mar. 1).
