Wright named NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The NJCAA announced its 2024-25 Division II Men's Basketball All-American award winners on Wednesday (Apr. 9th). 

Mid Michigan College sophomore James Wright represented the Lakers on the list, as he was named Honorable Mention All-American. The Redford, Mich. native had a monster year averaging a double-double with 22.3 points and 10.3 rebounds in 31 games played this season. Wright also surpassed 1,000 career points during the season, as he leaves Mid with 1,106 points in his college career so far. 

Along with Honorable Mention All-American status, Wright was named the MCCAA Northern Conference Player of the Year, All-Region, All-MCCAA, and earned First Team All-Northern Conference honors. 

The Lakers finished the 2024-25 season with a 25-6 overall record and 13-1 mark in MCCAA Northern Conference play. Mid won the outright Northern Conference regular season championship for the first time in school history.
