FLINT, Mich. – The No. 13 Mid Michigan College women's basketball team took care of business Friday morning in the semifinal round of the Great Lakes District C Tournament, defeating No. 4 seed Southwestern Michigan 78-61 inside Ballenger Fieldhouse on the campus of Mott Community College.
Leading the way for the Lakers (27-4) was Rachel Resio with 20 points, five rebounds, two assists, and a pair of blocks. Chloe Watson had an all-around game with 18 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
Jiaryatou Cisse had a nice game for Mid with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks, while Paige Ebels recorded 9 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
The Roadrunners (21-10) were led by Rayvan Rush with 12 points.
On the other side of the bracket, No. 2 seed Jackson defeated No. 3 seed Lakeland (Ohio) 86-65 to advance to the District Final on Sunday (March 9th) morning at 11am.
The Lakers and Jets will meet for the third time this season with the winner advancing to the NJCAA D2 National Tournament March 17th-22nd in Joplin, Missouri.
