MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – A high powered offense along with a suffocating defense led the No. 6 Mid Michigan College women's basketball team to a 113-23 victory over Kirtland on Tuesday night at Morey Courts.
After the Firebirds (4-14, 3-8 MCCAA North) opened the game with a three-pointer, the Lakers (23-2, 11-0 MCCAA North) responded with a 69-2 run to take a 69-5 lead into halftime.
Rachel Resio led the balanced Laker attack with 22 points, three assists, and four steals. Chloe Watson and Alexus Dunn added 11 points each, while Watson had six assists and five steals.
Paige Ebels added 10 points, while Madison Smith came off the bench and scored 14 points and pulled down six rebounds.
Mid travels to Muskegon tonight (Feb. 19), tipoff is set for 5:30 PM.
