JOPLIN, Mo. – The No. 10 Mid Michigan College women's basketball team (29-5) earned an 88-80 double overtime victory over No. 15 SC4 (28-7) on Thursday in the consolation bracket at the NJCAA D2 National Tournament.
The win sends the Lakers to another consolation bracket battle, as they'll take on No. 8 Highland (Ks.) on Friday (Mar. 21st).
The sophomore duo of Rachel Resio and Chloe Watson led the way for Mid, as Resio led all scorers with a career-high 39 points. Watson added 25 points of her own for the Lakers.
Madison Smith chipped in 7 points and five rebounds, while Jiaryatou Cisse posted 6 points and nine rebounds.
Resio finished the day shooting 11-of-21 from the field and 12-of-14 from the charity stripe, while also hitting five three-pointers. Watson was 10-of-23 from the field and 5-of-10 from three.
The Lakers have a quick turnaround as they'll take on the Scotties at 12pm ET/11am CT on Friday inside the Leggett and Platt Athletic Center on the campus of Missouri Southern State University.
