ICYMI: Women's Basketball Earns 7th Place Finish at NJCAA DII National Tournament

JOPLIN, Mo. – The Mid Michigan College women's basketball team closed their season Saturday with a 65-59 victory over Illinois Central in the seventh place game of the NJCAA D2 National Tournament. 

Mid has finished their season with a 31-5 overall record and 12-2 mark in MCCAA Northern Conference play. The Lakers won both the state and district championships to qualify for the National Tournament for the third straight year under head coach Lance Maney. 

In her final game with the Lakers, Chloe Watson led the way with 19 points, six rebounds and four assists. Fellow sophomore Paige Ebels added 14 points. Alexus Dunn chipped in 15 points off the bench, while Jiaryatou Cisse pulled down a team high eight rebounds. 

The Cougars (27-9) were led by Savannah Orgeron with 17 points.

Mid will now head into the offseason and look to win 30 games or more for the third straight season in 2025-26.
