
Baseball and Softball Both Clinch Postseason Berth
Both the Laker Baseball and Lady Laker Softball programs qualified for the NJCAA Great Lakes District Tournaments.
The baseball program qualified for the postseason for their second season in a row. The Lakers finished in second place in the MCCAA Northern Conference, amassing a 19-6 conference record, and a 27-13 overall record.
Baseball will take on #6 Kellogg Community College Bruins on the road on Thursday, 5/11 starting at 1:00 PM. The format is a best of three series, with two games being played Thursday, 5/11 and a game three if necessary being played Friday, 5/12.
The softball team qualified for the postseason for the first time in program history. They finsihed in third place in the MCCAA Northern Conference, with a record of 14-11 in the conference, and a 23-24 record with a very challenging schedule.
Softball will take on Jackson college at the Kohn Sports Complex in Stevensville, MI on Thursday, 5/11 at 12:00 PM. The Great Lakes District Softball Tournament is a double elimination tournament. The remainder of their postseason schedule is undetermined.
